UTEP’s student population has taken an active role in supporting environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives. The Student Government Association’s “Go Green” subcommittee and the Environmental Advocates work to review the campus needs and promote campus-wide environmental goals. Through their involvement students can change UTEP’s carbon footprint and encourage a sustainability culture at UTEP and in the local community.
